CA Parents Book Group on Friday, October 11
Calling all parents to join us at the first meeting of the Concord Academy Parents Book Club! We will be meeting during Family Weekend on Friday, October 11, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. in the Student-Faculty (Stufac) Dining Hall. This club is a great way to meet other parents from your child's year as well as many other graduating years. We have many parents come back even when their kids are off to college. That's how fun this book club is! At our first meeting, we'll introduce ourselves and talk about the upcoming year. We will also be discussing the book Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson. With the airing of the recent HBO special True Justice and the upcoming feature film based on Just Mercy being released on December 25, 2020, Bryan Stevenson's work to defend those society has forgotten has become part of the national conversation. It is a quick read, and even if you aren't able to read it in advance of our meeting, please stop by! We will be choosing books for the upcoming year as well. We hope to see you there. If you have any questions, feel free to call Michele Scavongelli P’20 at (978) 505-1844 or vanleer@comcast.net.
