CA Athletics enjoyed another successful season, including Eastern Independent League (EIL) and New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) championships and a victory over Bancroft School in the third annual Spring Cup rivalry event. Student-athletes demonostrated Concord Academy’s values of teamwork, good sportsmanship, and competitive grit.

Boys Varsity and Junior Varsity Tennis

Boys varsity tennis enjoyed a stellar campaign in 2024. The team captured the EIL championship for the third consecutive year. Concord earned the No. 1 seed to the NEPSAC tournament and comfortably beat the No. 4 seed, Wheeler School, 4–1 in the semifinals. With the win, CA advanced to the Class C NEPSAC championship match for the third year in a row, having finished with the runner-up trophy the past two years. The team was unable to battle for the title though, due to a persistent mist that forced the cancellation of the championship match. Per NEPSAC tournament policy, CA and Kents Hill School, the other finalist, were named co-champions for 2024. The boys junior varsity tennis team battled unfortunately more rain than opponents but had fun and improved upon their skills throughout the season.

Girls and Boys Track and Field

The girls and boys track and field teams enjoyed the most successful season in program history. Both teams posted undefeated regular season records. At the EIL championships, the boys brought home the first-place trophy for the first time in program history, and the girls secured the second-place plaque for the second year in a row. CA also had several individual EIL champions. Madori Shah ’25 won the triple jump, Ridley Hoyte ’24 and Ben Bartlett ’24 each won the pole vault, Axel Bostrom ’24 won the discus, Grace Kalere ’24 won the 400-meter, and Grace Kalere ’24, Tal Richmond ’25, Emerson Koch ’24, and Fraol Nigusse ’24  won the 4×400 relay. CA Track and Field wrapped up its season with the NEPSAC Division III Championship meet at Marianapolis Preparatory School. This was one of the largest NEPSAC meets ever, with 35 schools and more than 400 student-athletes participating. Both the boys team and girls team earned ninth-place finishes, with 13 CA athletes and one relay team earning All-NEPSAC honors.

Girls Varsity Tennis

The girls varsity tennis squad enjoyed another successful season. CA finished second in the EIL regular season standings and earned its seventh consecutive NEPSAC tournament berth despite being moved into the more competitive Class B level this year. The team earned a No. 4 seed and was pitted against league rival Pingree in the quarterfinals. Despite an excellent effort, CA ultimately succumbed in a closely fought contest.

All-Gender Varsity Sailing

The all-gender varsity sailing team once again posted a winning record in the very competitive Mass Bay League (MBL). The team also finished in first place in the B West division.

All-Gender Varsity Ultimate Frisbee

Despite being a very young squad in 2024, the varsity all-gender Ultimate Frisbee team posted an 8–4 regular season record and enjoyed a solid performance at the very competitive NEPSAC championships.

Varsity Lacrosse

Under the direction of new head coach Sophia Guerriero, the girls varsity lacrosse program finished at .500 this season while battling in the ever-competitive EIL. The boys varsity lacrosse team enjoyed a successful season, posting a winning record at 7–5.

Varsity Baseball and Softball Teams

The varsity baseball and softball teams had slow starts but improved markedly as the season progressed. Given their youthful rosters, look for both programs to make noise in the EIL in spring 2025!

CA’s baseball, tennis, and lacrosse teams hosted Bancroft School in the third annual Spring Cup rivalry event on April 26. With a sweep of the five games, CA defended the cup in dominant fashion, having won it in 2022 and 2023. We look forward to traveling to Bancroft in spring 2025.
