This is a place where students love to learn, faculty love to teach, and staff members are active in a vibrant and close-knit community.

At CA, everyone knows one another and works in partnership. We’re passionate practitioners and lifelong learners. We seek individuals who embrace Concord Academy’s mission as an independent college preparatory school, and who support the open-minded and inclusive environment we are committed to maintaining. We offer all of our employees a competitive salary and benefits package.

With a campus on Main Street in Concord, Mass., our school is enriched by the outsized literary and historical legacy of the town—a town that serves as a classroom and as an extended community. We are easily reached from Boston/Cambridge and surrounding towns. Some of our faculty and staff live on campus, while others drive or take the Commuter Rail (a 30-minute trip from Cambridge), which stops just a few blocks from campus.

Our Teachers Make a Difference

CA’s faculty is known for innovative thinking—for being open to new ideas and forging new approaches. Our teachers have a freedom to design their own classes that is virtually unmatched, even among other highly selective secondary schools. We are proud of our rigorous, wide-as-you-can-dream course offerings and committed to advancing faculty leadership by supporting teachers in connecting, collaborating, and testing ideas. We provide structured mentorship to new faculty and give all our teachers the tools they need to realize their full potential.

All teachers at CA take part in community life outside of their time in the classroom, but unlike at many boarding schools, we don’t require coaching. We have found that when individuals are free to determine how they want to be involved, it improves the quality of life for everyone—and the quality of the education we offer.

Our Faculty and Staff Are Thought Partners

When we talk about best practices, we call them “better practices.” We know there’s always room to do something differently, and better. Our team brings a wealth of experience from diverse professional backgrounds. We work with inspiring educators and accomplished administrators, and engage with some of the brightest and most interesting students you’ll find around. If you’re looking for a place where every voice is valued, you’ll find an open and welcoming work environment at CA.

Faculty and Staff Engagement Standards

The faculty and staff of Concord Academy are committed to creating an environment in which children and adolescents grow and thrive with the support of trusted, caring adults. Cultivating safe and healthy relationships in support of the potential of every child is the core of our work.

Concord Academy faculty and staff engage with the utmost professionalism with all constituencies. The following standards exist in support of this principle. The faculty and staff of Concord Academy:

  • Understand and model the school’s mission;
  • Maintain professional boundaries with all school constituencies;
  • Communicate with honesty, transparency, and mutual respect;
  • Practice and support school rules and values.

Environmental Sustainability Commitment

Concord Academy is committed to becoming a leading secondary school in sustainability. The core values of sustainability—fundamentally, one of looking after one another, and our world, with care and respect—are rooted in our mission. We hope to empower our students not only with a literacy on the issues relevant to sustainability, but also with greater skills that enable them to address the world with compassion and understanding. Toward this end, we ask that all CA students and adults consider their capacity to embrace a more environmentally sustainable presence in their communities in order to “build a more just and sustainable future.”

Concord Academy is an equal opportunity employer and values the strength diversity brings to the workplace. We are committed to providing reasonable accommodation to applicants with disabilities.
