CA Reconnects During Reunion and Alum Weekend 2024

What a beautiful weekend it was to reunite in Concord, Mass.! From June 7 to 9, 2024, around 200 alums from across generations returned to Concord Academy. Reunion and Alum Weekend provided many opportunities for CA graduates and their families to connect.

Concord Academy Commencement Celebrates the Class of 2024

The morning of May 24 was sunny and warm—a beautiful time to celebrate Concord Academy’s newest graduates. The rhododendrons were in brilliant bloom as the class of 2024 processed down the Senior Steps in front of hundreds of guests in Academy Garden.

CA Celebrates Successful Spring 2024 Athletic Season

CA Athletics enjoyed another successful season, including Eastern Independent League (EIL) and New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) championships and a victory over Bancroft School in the third annual Spring Cup rivalry event. Student-athletes demonostrated Concord Academy’s values of teamwork, good sportsmanship, and competitive grit.

CA Business Speaker Series Celebrates Enterprising Alums

Concord Academy alums’ passions for learning, innovation, and adaptability have distinguished them as leaders in business. As part of CA’s spring 2024 Business Speaker Series, Layth Madi ’96, Lindsay Kolowich Cox ’09, and Vernard Lockhart ’04 spoke with students to share their experiences in moving organizations forward and offer advice for future entrepreneurs.

CA Brings Experts in Peace and Conflict Studies to Campus

On February 1, the Community and Equity Office hosted an assembly about peacebuilding through dialogue in the Performing Arts Center. Presenters Sa’ed Atshan and Karen Ross, both professors of peace and conflict resolution studies, responded to questions submitted by students in advance, shared their life stories, and offered insights on engaging in challenging conversations about global issues, including the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Holocaust Survivor Shares Her Story at CA

On January 26, members of Concord Academy’s Jewish Student Organization (JSO) hosted Holocaust survivor Magda Bader, 94, during an assembly in honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Bader’s talk was moderated by Debbie Coltin, a Holocaust educator, president of the Lappin Foundation, and member of the board of the Holocaust Legacy Foundation.

Annie and Ilan Ganot P’26 Share a Deeply Personal Journey into Bioscience Research

On November 29, Annie and Ilan Ganot P’26, co-founders of the Boston-based biotechnology company Solid Biosciences, gave an inspiring presentation to the CA community. They shared how they are developing treatments for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a progressive muscle-wasting disease that afflicts approximately 10,000 people in the United States alone, including their son. The Ganots leverage their expertise, networks, and unrelenting drive as parents and professionals to push boundaries in science to improve the lives of patients living with Duchenne.

Dance Project Collaborations Spark Creativity

This fall, CA Dance Project’s collaborations with professional organizations have furthered students’ interest in creative movement. Students visited Boston Ballet and spoke with company member My’Kal Stromile about pursuing professions in dance. Dance Project members also participated in an on-campus improv workshop with Jessie Jeanne Stinnett, founder, and co-director of Boston Dance Theater, where they explored freedom of expression.
