CA Reconnects During Reunion and Alum Weekend 2024

What a beautiful weekend it was to reunite in Concord, Mass.! From June 7 to 9, 2024, around 200 alums from across generations returned to Concord Academy. Reunion and Alum Weekend provided many opportunities for CA graduates and their families to connect.

Concord Academy Commencement Celebrates the Class of 2024

The morning of May 24 was sunny and warm—a beautiful time to celebrate Concord Academy’s newest graduates. The rhododendrons were in brilliant bloom as the class of 2024 processed down the Senior Steps in front of hundreds of guests in Academy Garden.

CA Celebrates Successful Spring 2024 Athletic Season

CA Athletics enjoyed another successful season, including Eastern Independent League (EIL) and New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) championships and a victory over Bancroft School in the third annual Spring Cup rivalry event. Student-athletes demonostrated Concord Academy’s values of teamwork, good sportsmanship, and competitive grit.

CA Business Speaker Series Celebrates Enterprising Alums

Concord Academy alums’ passions for learning, innovation, and adaptability have distinguished them as leaders in business. As part of CA’s spring 2024 Business Speaker Series, Layth Madi ’96, Lindsay Kolowich Cox ’09, and Vernard Lockhart ’04 spoke with students to share their experiences in moving organizations forward and offer advice for future entrepreneurs.

Author Sergio Troncoso Speaks at CA About Crossing Borders

On September 29, Mexican-American author Sergio Troncoso spoke at an assembly in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. He shared memories of his childhood in El Paso, Texas, and how it has influenced his life’s work as a writer and educator. Troncoso encouraged students to tell authentic stories that cross cultural and philosophical borders.

Convocation Ceremony Opens the 2023–24 School Year with Focus on Belonging

The first day of the 2023-24 school year began with a heartfelt Convocation ceremony in the Elizabeth B. Hall Chapel. Modern and Classical Languages Department Head Carmen Welton gave a powerful speech about finding belonging through community that resonated with all. Co-President of the Board of Trustees Jen Burleigh ʼ85, Student Head of School Jessie Ma ’24, and Head of School Henry D. Fairfax also took the podium to offer a warm welcome to CA. We can’t wait to see where the year takes us.

Eyewitness History

This summer, Concord Academy history teachers Kim Frederick and Topi Dasgupta P'22 '25 in partnership with the Concord Museum and the History and Education subcommittee of the Concord 250 civic engagement committee worked with local educators to develop a primary-source public curricula on the American Revolution.

The Concord Academy Centennial Campaign is our great opportunity to celebrate CA’s role in shaping the lives of young people. Across generations, our graduates demonstrate over and over that those who live and learn at CA develop into forces for good, magnifying this school’s impact in the world. Going for Gold

Skiing has been a lifelong passion for Tory Adams ’23, who first hit the slopes at 5 years old and began ski racing at 13. At Concord Academy, she reached peak performance as part of the varsity Alpine ski team, which has dominated the Central Massachusetts Ski League (CMSL).
