CA Hosts Cross-Country EIL Championship Race

On November 1, CA hosted the EIL cross-country championships at Great Brook State Park for the second consecutive year. After a week of rain and high winds earlier in the day, the teams and fans were treated to near perfect racing conditions at start time. In the boys’ race, CA finished a close second to Landmark in a race that was not decided until the final 100 meters. CA’s Reza Eshghi ’20 won the individual title, and five CA runners earned league All-Star by finishing in the top 15. Midterm Comments Available

Concord Academy provides academic progress reports for your children electronically in the parent portal. These fall interim reports will be available through the portal starting on Friday, November 2. Please understand that these comments are meant to be tentative, informal evaluations that precede the more thorough evaluations provided at the end of the first semester. They do not become part of a student's transcript. All teachers do report averages of C- or below. Our intent is to gather support and strategies for students who may be struggling in the early going.

You will hear more about Exam Treats in the coming weeks, but we ask that you consider putting aside any extra Halloween candy you have for this effort before you give it away! If you would like to drop off candy now, please email Meredith Walsh, parent program officer, at meredith_walsh@concordacademy.org.

A Reminder of Study Hall Rules for Day Students

Please remember that day students who stay on campus for study hall must adhere to the following guidelines:

If they are here from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on a weeknight, they must be studying, and doing so in the space designated for their grade.

  • If they are a 9th grader, they must sign in and sign out with the proctor in the Ransome Room of the MAC (or “chip in” using Boardingware in that location).*
  • If they are a 10th grader, they must sign in and sign out with the proctor in the Stu-Fac (or “chip in” using Boardingware in that location).
  • If they are an 11th or 12th grader, they must sign in and sign out with the proctor in the library (or “chip in” using Boardingware in one of the approved locations).

Please know that we do not allow students (day or boarding) to use the SHAC during study hall hours. We are trying to protect this time for academic work.

*On nights when we expect a large number of day students to be on campus due to a parent event, we often ask the 9th grade day students to use the Great Room, as the Ransome Room can only hold a few extra bodies on any given night. Students are informed of this in an email from the Student Life Office.
