CA Reconnects During Reunion and Alum Weekend 2024

What a beautiful weekend it was to reunite in Concord, Mass.! From June 7 to 9, 2024, around 200 alums from across generations returned to Concord Academy. Reunion and Alum Weekend provided many opportunities for CA graduates and their families to connect.

Concord Academy Commencement Celebrates the Class of 2024

The morning of May 24 was sunny and warm—a beautiful time to celebrate Concord Academy’s newest graduates. The rhododendrons were in brilliant bloom as the class of 2024 processed down the Senior Steps in front of hundreds of guests in Academy Garden.

CA Celebrates Successful Spring 2024 Athletic Season

CA Athletics enjoyed another successful season, including Eastern Independent League (EIL) and New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) championships and a victory over Bancroft School in the third annual Spring Cup rivalry event. Student-athletes demonostrated Concord Academy’s values of teamwork, good sportsmanship, and competitive grit.

CA Business Speaker Series Celebrates Enterprising Alums

Concord Academy alums’ passions for learning, innovation, and adaptability have distinguished them as leaders in business. As part of CA’s spring 2024 Business Speaker Series, Layth Madi ’96, Lindsay Kolowich Cox ’09, and Vernard Lockhart ’04 spoke with students to share their experiences in moving organizations forward and offer advice for future entrepreneurs.

CA Holds Assembly in Honor of Native American Heritage Month

On November 15, 2023, Thomas Green, vice president of the Massachusett-Ponkapoag Tribal Council and an Indigenous culture steward and educator, addressed the CA campus community. In this assembly held in the Performing Arts Center in honor of Native American Heritage Month, Green shared the history of the Massachusett people, whose villages once reached from Salem, Mass., to Plymouth along the coast and inland as far west as Worcester.

CA Cross Country Excels at EIL Championships

CA cross-country returned to its home course, Great Brook Farm, on November 3 to host the 2023 Eastern Independent League (EIL) Championships. Running first, the girls placed eighth in a very strong field, with all CA runners improving significantly from their earlier effort on the same course. They were followed by the boys team, which faced a neck-and-neck competition. CA edged ahead in the final 200 meters to earn the first-place title. CA runners on the girls and boys teams set 25 personal bests in a memorable day for the program. Go Green!

CA Senior Presents Research at MIT

On October 15, student Irene Jiang ’24 presented about genetic associations with tuberculosis at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She conducted her original research during a yearlong academic after-school project through the MIT PRIMES program for high school students.

Chandler Bowl for Changing Lives 2023 in Photos

Last Saturday CA's fall teams competed in the annual Chandler Bowl for Changing Lives at the Pingree School. Despite the cold and rainy conditions, CA teams gave their all but fell short of earning the coveted bowl for the seventh consecutive year. It was a great six-year run though and CA athletics looks forward to hosting the event in fall 2024. Go Green!
