Dave Cavell ’02
Dave Cavell is a lawyer and public servant who is special assistant to the president and director of speechwriting for Vice President Kamala Harris. This is his second time serving at the White House after serving as a presidential speechwriter for President Obama and Mrs. Obama from 2015 to 2017. In the 2020 campaign cycle, he ran for Congress in the Massachusetts 4th Congressional District Democratic primary. Prior to his campaign, he spent two years as senior advisor and assistant attorney general for then-Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey, which included working with her to sue the Trump administration (more than 50 times) and combat the opioid crisis.
