CA Welcomes New Students at In-Person Orientation

On Saturday, September 5, the Student Life Office welcomed more than 70 new CA students to campus in person for Orientation. Students participated in a number of exercises and activities designed to help them understand Concord Academy culture, and they also met their classmates and fellow new CA students. Some highlights of the day included speed friending on the quad, an all-campus scavenger hunt, and a small-group debrief of Orientation and the first week of school. On hand as guides were 25 Orientation leaders — returning CA students excited to share their love of the school — as well as a number of CA faculty, staff, and administrators. We hope our new students felt the warmth and excitement the CA community offers. Welcome, new CA community members!

CA Honors Journalist Richard Read ’75 with the 2024 Joan Shaw Herman Award

On May 10, two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Richard Read ’75 accepted the Joan Shaw Herman Award for Distinguished Service at an all-school assembly. The Joan Shaw Herman Award—the only award CA gives—underscores CA’s mission of doing good work in service to others.
