The winter athletic season wrapped up this past week with the squash and basketball teams finishing out their games.

The boys varsity squash team enjoyed an outstanding season! The team posted an eight-game win streak in the thick of the regular season to finish 9-4 overall. As a result, the team was ranked 27th out of 40 programs in New England, its highest ranking in the past five years, and earned a No. 3 seed in the Class D NEPSAC tournament at Westminster School this past weekend. Winning two of its three matches, including the second win of the season over ISL foe St. Marks, boys squash proudly returned to campus from NEPSACs with a third-place trophy. The girls varsity squash program was young and rebuilding this winter. The highlight was winning three of four matches in early January and the experience of competing in the Class E tournament at Pomfret.

The boys varsity basketball team swept its four non-conference games this season but was able to pull out only one of many close league games. The girls varsity basketball team stepped away from the league this year to rebuild. Highlights included an exciting come-from-behind victory over league foe Dana Hall on Senior Day and the significant improvement of many young players across the course of the season. The girls and boys JV basketball teams both worked hard and greatly improved throughout the winter as well!

A number of competitors received special distinction from the Eastern Independent League (EIL), New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC), and Central Massachusetts Ski League (CSML).
