CAMUN Online!

Dear Model UN advisors and delegates,

I hope you and your loved ones are healthy and safe, as we all become more adjusted to our current situations and learning circumstances.

As with many schools, Concord Academy has been continuing classes through an online format. As the CAMUN staff and I have become more acquainted and comfortable with distance learning, we have come up with a plan to re-imagine CAMUN 2020…online!

Therefore, it is with my utmost pleasure that I re-invite you to join us on Saturday, May 2, from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm EST for CAMUN 2020 Online (which we have code-named “Phoenix CAMUN”). We’re planning to run all six of our committees in three-hour committee sessions on Zoom. There will be no fee to attend.

If your delegates are interested in attending, please let us know how many by filling out our CAMUN 2020 Online Registration Form. We will then send you a shared sheet of committee positions, and you can fill in your delegate names. We don’t need an advisor to be present on May 2nd, but we’re looking for adults to monitor committees during the conference, so please let us know in the registration form if you’re willing.

Topics and Background Guides for the committees remain unchanged and you can find them on the right of this page, or down below.

If you have questions about registration or positions, please contact us at ModelUN@ConcordAcademy.org.

The staff and I have been working hard on the logistics of running CAMUN online, looking at past examples of online conferences, and our faculty advisor is a Computer Science teacher, so we’re hoping to maintain as much of the excitement of CAMUN as we’ve provided since 2004! We decided to focus our efforts on committee sessions, so there will be no formal opening and closing ceremonies, delegate training, or position papers, but we still hope delegates will come ready for lively and high-level diplomacy!

Thank you all again for your continued support of CAMUN, and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Best Regards,
Charmaine Ko ‘20
Secretary-General
