What is the best class you’ve taken at CA and why?

It’s a tie between Sophomore English with Nick and US: Immigration and Nativism with Claire. In Nick’s class, I found the confidence to call myself a writer and poet, and I walked away with a deeper appreciation of the power of language and literature. Claire’s history elective completely restructured my approach to historical writing. It also pushed me to consider (and reconsider) how the legacy of immigration shaped American society.

Advice to prospective students?

Be truthful and unapologetic when you tell your story. Everyone at CA will value and appreciate you for who you are. Also, trust yourself to make some steps and leaps outside of your comfort zone, and explore all that this community has to offer (including some top-tier hot chocolate)!
