What makes CA unique?

The balance CA strikes between academics, arts, and athletics is a unique aspect of the school. Academics is the main priority at CA, with arts and athletics being equally important aspects of student life. At CA you won’t be forced to choose or even favor one or the other, allowing students lots of choices.

What is the best class you’ve taken at CA and why?

One of my favorite classes at CA has been my sophomore English class with Zora Vermilya. I particularly loved reading Citizen by Claudia Rankine. The style of writing was like nothing I had ever read before and led to the Pastiche where we tried to emulate Rankine’s writing style. It was really fun to break the boundaries of more traditional writing and there was a lot of room for interpretation. Throughout the entire year, I also improved my analytical writing, preparing me for electives in my junior and senior years.

Share a moment where you knew you belonged at CA?

On one of the first warm days in the spring of my freshman year, I remember everybody gathering on the quad, playing games, laughing, and listening to music. I felt such a strong sense of togetherness and I knew I was in the right place.
