Concord Academy winter teams have wrapped up a successful season!

All-Gender Varsity Wrestling

The all-gender varsity wrestling team had an impressive campaign after a rebuilding year in 2023. CA won the 2024 Eastern Independent League (EIL) regular season championship with a thrilling come-from-behind victory over Portsmouth Abbey on the road. A banner will be raised in the gym to honor the achievement. This is the program’s second league title in the past three years. In total, 11 wrestlers competed at New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) championships, the most qualifiers in recent program history, with Alec Nieuwenhuizen ’24 and Bobby Skrivanek ’24 both earning a spot on the podium and Laura Montoro ’26 winning the NEPSAC championship in her weight class in the girls tournament. Laura impressively went on to earn a spot on the podium at the Girls National Prep Wrestling Championships as well.

Girls and Boys Alpine Ski Teams

CA’s Alpine ski team enjoyed another successful season in the Central Massachusetts Ski League (CMSL). The girls team finished 4th, the boys took home the runner-up trophy, and three skiers earned all-league honors, including Boris Liu ’27 who was selected as the boys division Skier of the Year. At the NEPSAC championships at Bousquet Mountain, both the boys and girls teams competed well against the brutal cold and strong class B opponents. Boris capped off a stellar first year on the slope by earning a NEPSAC championship in boys giant slalom.

Girls Varsity Basketball

The girls varsity basketball program enjoyed a breakout season. Coming off of a 3–10 campaign in 2023, the 2024 squad ran off 14 consecutive wins to start the season, finished 16–4 overall, and nearly upset the No. 2 seed in the EIL tournament after earning a tournament bid for the first time in recent program history.

Girls and Boys Squash

The CA squash program enjoyed a stellar performance at the NEPSAC championships this winter. Both the girls and boys teams pulled off upsets in earlier rounds to earn a spot in the championship match and returned to campus with the NEPSAC tournament runner-up trophies.

Boys Varsity Basketball

The boys varsity basketball team’s schedule was markedly more challenging this year as the program continues to grow. While wins were difficult to come by as a result, the team competed hard against some of the stronger programs in New England.

Boys and Girls Junior Varsity Basketball

The girls and boys junior varsity basketball teams enjoyed successful campaigns. The boys team rattled off five wins to start the season and the girls won their last four games to finish strong.
