Gather your dice, sharpen your pencil, and join us this summer for an epic adventure!

At this camp we’ll play Dungeons & Dragons, the world’s most popular roleplaying game. You and the other campers will create heroic characters, explore fantastic worlds, solve challenging puzzles, and face great dangers – all in your imagination. Teamwork is essential. Can your group work together to complete the quest and save the world? There’s only one way to find out!

Did you know there are other roleplaying games besides D&D? We’ll also explore games set in worlds different from D&D (from fantasy, to science fiction, to our own real world) and face different challenges: a haunted summer camp? A UFO that crashes in the woods? A team of misfit superheroes? Your imagination is the only limit!

Besides slaying monsters, the camp day includes camp activities like archery and woodworking, and an optional swim period.

In this camp, we’ll explore lots of different comics formats while we have fun drawing silly stories and playing with words and pictures. Through a combo of collaborative storytelling games and individual drawing/writing activities, we’ll create our own mini-library of zines. At the end of the week, we’ll host our own Concord Academy Camp Comic-Con, where we can share what we made at a comics-reading extravaganza.

About the Instructor: Brandon Eang
With over thirty years of experience teaching media art at all levels—from kindergarten to college—I am dedicated to fostering creativity while imparting solid technical skills. I hold a bachelor’s degree in visual communication art and a master’s degree focused on digital filmmaking. My areas of expertise include digital media art (utilizing Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop), desktop video production (using Adobe Premiere Pro), 3D modeling and animation, and foundational art.

I am naturally positive, confident, and creative, and I eagerly anticipate teaching at the CA Summer MovieMakers Camp.

In 2000, I traveled to Cambodia with my colleague, Matt Scott, to create a documentary titled “Floating on Lotus Flowers.” Two years later, in 2002, we returned to produce our second documentary, “Devotion.” Both films were well-received and won the Best Picture award at the Regional Hometown Video Festival and the UMass Lowell Film Festival.

Additionally, I’ve been proud of the achievements of my students at Westford Academy. During the Merrimack Valley Film Festival in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2017, our entries won awards in four categories: Best Fiction Piece, Best Writing, Best Editing, and Best Videography. My students also achieved recognition at the MassDOT “Safe Streets Smart Trips” Video Contest and the Salem Film Festival.
