Encompassing modern dance and ballet, the Dance program at CA prioritizes establishing a robust technical base for new dancers. Under the guidance of faculty and guest instructors, students explore improvisation, musical theater, social/folk dance, and diverse styles including tap, hip-hop, and West African dance. Attention is given to promoting healthy alignment and enhancing strength, flexibility, and endurance. As students advance, they broaden their movement repertoire, become adept at navigating intricate rhythms, and build confidence in utilizing improvisation.
The CA Dance Project is tailored for advanced students who are committed to refining their dance skills, providing an immersive, performance-centered journey. Participants serve as cast members in original performances and mainstage musical dance corps. Students cultivate a sense of community and expression while exploring choreography opportunities.
