Nancy Boutilier
English Teacher, Girls JV Basketball Head Coach
With a youth spent playing sports and admiring the power of the pen, Nancy Boutilier made the joyful transition from student-athlete to teacher-coach in 1984. She taught composition, creative writing, and literature courses at high schools, recreation centers, a community college, a state prison, and most recently, at Oberlin College before arriving at Concord Academy in 2016. Nancy teaches 10th Grade English and electives in poetry, creative nonfiction, LGBTQ+ literature, and eco-literature. She is active around campus, coaching the JV girls basketball team, supporting LGBTQ+ student groups, coordinating the Writing Center, and drafting poetry or sketching birds with anyone who will join her! Nancy serves as a house faculty member in Wheeler House, where she lives with her partner, Christa Champion, and their dog, Kovick. Although her first athletic love will always be basketball, these days Nancy is more often found hiking and kayaking rather than running the point.
