Michael Bechtel joined the History Department at Concord Academy in 2025. He teaches courses on Eurasian history, including China, Mongol Empire, and the Silk Roads. His PhD is from the University of Chicago. Before coming to CA, Michael was member of the history faculty at Nazarbayev University in Kazakhstan. He prefers travel by bicycle, motorcycle, canoe, or hiking boot whenever possible.
