Karen Canavan Lapsley has been on the CA coaching staff for the past two years as the girls varsity tennis assistant coach. Prior to joining the CA staff, she coached youth basketball and worked at Newton North High School, assisting first-generation students as they navigated the college admissions process. Karen enjoyed a stellar playing career at the high school and college levels. At Lyman Hall High School in Wallingford, Conn., Karen led the basketball team to consecutive state titles while earning All-American honors and being selected the Connecticut Gatorade Player of the Year in her senior season. A standout softball player as well, Karen earned All-State honors three consecutive seasons. She went on to play four years of basketball at Yale, where she led the squad as the starting point guard for the majority of her career.
