Joanna Steffey

Director of Learning Services and Partnerships

Joanna Steffey cares deeply about how people learn and how schools can help every student thrive. She joined Concord Academy in 2025 with over 20 years of experience supporting diverse learning profiles in schools across New Orleans, Houston, Boston, and their suburbs. Joanna runs the Academic Support Center, develops accommodation and learning plans for students, and collaborates with families and faculty to create effective learning environments. She is passionate about belonging and purposeful learning and loves helping students discover their strengths, tap into curiosity, and approach learning with resilience and joy. With experience working with local and state organizations to expand student services and opportunities, she also seeks to build innovative partnerships that serve CA students and deepen the school’s engagement with the surrounding community.

Outside of school, she loves biking (road or mountain), sampling her daughter’s baking creations, and adventuring outdoors with family and friends. She’s always reading, whether a YA novel recommended by her son or a research-based educational book. Joanna lives in Sudbury, Mass., with her family, their dog, two cats, and—despite her best efforts—two pet rats. She also stays connected to her community through volunteer work focused on equity in local schools, Concord Prison Outreach, and the Sudbury DEI Commission.
