Concord Academy is a boarding and day school for students of all genders in grades 9 through 12. CA is located in historic Concord, Mass., the birthplace of the nation, less than 20 miles from Boston. Our campus is on Main Street in one of the safest, most beautiful towns in the United States.
We are a community animated by love of learning,
diverse and striving for equity,
with common trust as our foundation.
Honoring each individual, we challenge and expand
our understanding of ourselves and the world
through purposeful collaboration and creative engagement.
We cultivate empathy, integrity, and responsibility
to build a more just and sustainable future.
While CA is grounded in a textured history and love of big ideas, the CA of today is progressive. We are leading the way in how to educate young people. We always ask: “How do young people learn best?”
More than ever, CA offers a transformational education. In what can be a performative society, that is no small feat. Though we like to be humble at CA, a truly transformational education is rare. One of CA’s superpowers is its ability to offer a transformational experience that changes lives.
At Concord Academy, we’re grounded in common trust and a love of learning, and we are actively striving for equity. We value the individual, helping every student thrive and feel a sense of belonging. Students at CA meet one-on-one with advisors every week. Their ideas inform an intense academic program that prepares them for college, while they experience the arts and interdisciplinary work that often feels more like what you would find at a college than a high school. At CA, boarding students live in small houses—not in dorms—and they get to know faculty families, and often their pets!

What is so special about CA is that we live our mission: “Honoring each individual, we challenge and expand our understanding of ourselves and the world.” This is what striving for equity looks like in practice. It’s also what love of learning entails: reconsidering beliefs and assumptions, being open to multiple perspectives, allowing yourself to grow and be changed. This isn’t easy—it takes courage and can be uncomfortable. But when this kind of learning connects students, graduates, and their families across generations, it creates a profound capacity for shaping a better world.
