Tabletop games provide great opportunities for socialization as well as strategic thinking. Campers will play, analyze, and discuss many varieties of tabletop games, while working towards prototyping their own game using what they’ve learned to create a more robust player experience. The maker space will also allow students the opportunity to learn about fast prototyping methods (3D printing and laser cutting) to create more immersive, polished games.

3D Modeling and Animation
Get ready for an awesome five‑day adventure in 3D modeling and animation! All week long, you’ll dive into the world of digital art and bring your ideas to life. We’ll start with simple shapes and build up to cool, complex models. Then, you’ll make them move by adding animations with armatures—the digital skeletons that give your creations action!
You’ll get hands‑on practice with every step of the process: shaping meshes (your model’s building blocks), changing their look, adding colors and textures, setting up lights, experimenting with fun effects, and finally rendering your masterpiece so it shines on screen.
Best of all, everything happens in CA’s brand‑new Digital Production Lab. By the end of camp, you’ll have your very own 3D models and animations to show off!

I am naturally positive, confident, and creative, and I eagerly anticipate teaching at the CA Summer MovieMakers Camp.
In 2000, I traveled to Cambodia with my colleague, Matt Scott, to create a documentary titled “Floating on Lotus Flowers.” Two years later, in 2002, we returned to produce our second documentary, “Devotion.” Both films were well-received and won the Best Picture award at the Regional Hometown Video Festival and the UMass Lowell Film Festival.
Additionally, I’ve been proud of the achievements of my students at Westford Academy. During the Merrimack Valley Film Festival in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2017, our entries won awards in four categories: Best Fiction Piece, Best Writing, Best Editing, and Best Videography. My students also achieved recognition at the MassDOT “Safe Streets Smart Trips” Video Contest and the Salem Film Festival.
