Science Teacher

James has been teaching at Concord Academy since 2020. He teaches 9th grade biology and advanced biology electives in molecular biology and biotechnology as well as in epidemiology and public health. He is the faculty advisor for the Science Club and the Kite Flying Club and coordinator for the InSPIRE summer internship program. He received his PhD degree in biophysics and spent many years in basic research in biochemistry and cell biology; he also served on the faculty of the Department of Immunology at the University of Toronto, teaching undergraduate and graduate students. James has long been involved in volunteer work in the area of climate change mitigation at the local, state, and federal levels. His other interests include infectious diseases (learning about them, not contracting them), running, and hiking.
