Ben Stumpf ’88
Computer Science Department Head and Teacher, Visual Arts Teacher, Girls Varsity Soccer Coach, All-Gender Varsity Ultimate Frisbee Coach
Ben is entering his 22nd year at Concord Academy, not including the four he enjoyed as a boarding student back in the ’80s. He teaches computer science, graphic design, and film courses; coaches the girls varsity soccer and all-gender Ultimate Frisbee teams; and advises CA’s Model United Nations Club. He lives on campus with his spouse, Samera, and two cats. He loves to bike on Concord’s many trails, improvise on piano and harmonica, and see films in actual theaters. Ben has also been coaching soccer for over 20 years, working with every team at Concord Academy during his tenure here. He has played soccer for nearly 50 years, including captaining CA’s varsity team in the late ’80s and beforehand participating in the Oberlin College team in the early ’90s. He likes his players to work hard on and off the field while forming lifelong friendships, pushing themselves and their teammates to excel at the beautiful game.
