Nicholas Brown is a clarinetist, educator, and arts leader focused on amplifying the reach and relevance of classical music. He is Co-Founder of the Boston Festival Orchestra (BFO), an organization that provides accessible classical music experiences to audiences and summer employment to professional musicians across New England. Through its 3 performance programs, network of community partnerships, and educational programming, the BFO promotes community involvement, fosters enrichment, and supports the local arts economy.
As a performer, Nicholas is a member of the Boston Lyric Opera Orchestra, Portland Symphony, New Bedford Symphony, and Boston Festival Orchestra, and a guest musician with A Far Cry, Albany Symphony, Boston Philharmonic, Boston Pops, Chicago Symphony, Landmarks Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, Sound Icon, and many others. Nicholas is featured on albums by Albany, Decca, New Focus, and Parma record labels, most notably on Carlos Simon’s recent GRAMMY-nominated album “”Requiem for the Enslaved”” (Decca Records) as well as a forthcoming album of American music with the Albany Symphony (Albany Records).
