What are you involved in at CA?
Chameleons (chamber music), varsity squash team, Discipline Committee, and Art Club.
What is your favorite activity at CA and why?
My favorite activity at CA is Winterfest. This event not only serves as an opportunity for clubs to sell food and baked goods for charity but also creates a platform for students to share their passions during the talent show. The part that I look forward the most to is always the senior pie-ing, where non-seniors get a chance to put a plate that is filled with whipped cream on the face of their loved seniors.
What is your favorite class you’ve taken at CA and why?
Math and Social Justice is a favorite class that I’ve taken at CA. This class discusses the injustice within our society through the lens of mathematical data and analysis, helping the students to acknowledge the social issues while strengthening our math ability. This course stimulates me to pay more attention to the unequal treatment among different races, genders, and statuses, helping me discover the topics that I hope to engage with more in the future.
What is your favorite boarding memory or tradition?
My favorite boarding tradition is house food on Saturday nights. It is always a great opportunity for students to bond and share their week with the teachers. I love watching the TV with my friends on the couch while enjoying a plate of homemade food from my teachers. Hearing the laughter and seeing the smiles on my friends’ faces always makes my heart full.
Share a moment where you knew you belonged at CA.
One moment that I felt belonged to CA was when I walked into my boarding house on my birthday two years ago. Stepping into the common room, I saw my friends blowing balloons and cooking food for my birthday celebration, which immediately warmed my heart. Their actions allowed me to feel loved and cared for, and as a boarding student, that was the moment I truly considered CA “home” and the people my “family”.
