She/her
Boarding student from Wellesley, Mass.
Previous school: Wellesley High School
What are you involved in at CA?
I am the Head of Boarding Students, as well as a co-head of the Black affinity space called UMOJA. In addition, I play on the girls basketball team, girls varsity volleyball team, and participate in CA’s strength and conditioning program. I also enjoy being a member of Frizzed, CA’s curly hair club.
What is your favorite activity at CA and why?
My favorite activity at CA is the International Potluck. Students and their families bring in foods from other cultures, and the students gather and eat the incredible spread of delectable foods from around the world. The potluck brings the community together and is a favorite amongst CA students.
Why did you choose CA?
I chose to transfer to CA after completing my junior year at my local high school because CA demonstrated a clear emphasis on prioritizing community, a true commitment to amplifying student voices in all aspects of school life, and their pursuit of academic excellence. Concord Academy values the individuality of students and creates space for every member to show up as their authentic selves.
What is your favorite boarding memory or tradition?
My favorite tradition is the annual Lip Sync Challenge. I enjoyed coming together with the other members of Hobson House to choreograph a dance and lip sync routine that won the competition. Hobson really put on a show!
Advice to prospective students?
My advice is to approach every person and experience at CA with an open mind. Take risks, and find what works best for you. Additionally, don’t be too hard on yourself. Not one experience is identical and you cannot compare yourself to others.
