Community & Equity

The Community and Equity Office guides the commitments in Concord Academy’s mission to strive for equity, honor each individual, and cultivate empathy, integrity, and responsibility to build a more just and sustainable future.

A student-centered ethos drives community and equity (C&E) work at CA, which focuses on creating an equitable, inclusive, and positive environment for all our students. The C&E team’s work prioritizes students’ experiences, growth, and humanity. Students are encouraged to set up formal meetings and to drop by the C&E Office to chat, borrow a book, or pet Rumour, the office dog.

The pursuit of prioritizing diversity as central to the core of any institution evolves around honoring human perspective, lived experiences, and expectations. The most important of those perspectives are those of our students.

Building Community

Partnering with students and representatives from across the school, the C&E team has been instrumental in creating CA’s anti-bias and gender support policies and procedures. The C&E team also supports the school’s many affinity spaces, cultural clubs, and social justice organizations and convenes assemblies, workshops, and conversations that bring together students, faculty, and staff to examine identities, build community, and challenge inequities.
