Concord Academy seeks an experienced vocal instructor to teach a course in Basic Voice instruction, teach individual music instruction in voice, and coach the vocalists in the school’s Vocal Jazz & Pop Ensemble (VJ&P). Basic Voice is a course designed for beginning students to provide basic vocal skills and introduce a range of vocal experiences as well as rudiments of basic music theory. VJ&P vocalists collaborate with a small pop band in a variety of styles including pop, funk, rock, Latin and swing. Singers develop skills in singing harmony and background and microphone techniques using amplification. Individual Music Instruction is a full-year course, receiving academic credit. Instructors complete student reports and provide grades twice a year as well as coordinate and direct one to two studio workshops with the students.
