What do you like most about CA?
There are honestly so many aspects to CA that I love, but I would have to say that my favorite part is the classes. The teachers are all really passionate about their respective fields. It’s amazing to see them get so excited by what they are teaching us. I had never been so engaged in a class or fascinated by what I was learning before I came to CA! The teachers are also really approachable and are not only willing but also very happy to schedule meetings with students outside of class time. I also love how the teachers make it very easy for students to meet with them: They even let us know their free times for meeting on the very first day of class.
What keeps you busy on campus?
I have been studying ballet for seven years, and now I dance year-round at CA and am in the Dance Company. I also love to sing and am in both Chorus and CA Singers. My freshman and sophomore years, I used to play the violin in the CA Orchestra. I am a cohead of the Model UN club at CA. I am a peer mentor, which means that I will get to help teach the Freshman Seminar: Health and Wellness class. I am also a member of the Discipline Committee. In my sophomore year, I took a ceramics class that I really enjoyed. In my free time, I like to go to the swings with my friends and work on my homework in the library.
What’s something that most people don’t know about you?
In elementary and middle school, I used to take mixed martial arts classes. I stopped after I received my junior black belt.
