Day Student – Brookline, Mass.
What are you involved in at CA?
Chorus and CA Singers, Student Council, Orientation leading, and varsity sailing
Why did you choose CA?
The second I walked on campus, I felt an immediate connection. Students who choose to attend CA are committed equally to academics and community. Students are supportive and friendly and deeply committed to CA.
How would you describe common trust?
Common trust, in my mind, is equal to common respect. Students at CA respect each other, teachers, faculty, everyone on campus, as they all respect us back. It’s seen in the small things — calling teachers by their first names, holding the door for others, exchanging pleasantries with everyone rushing by between classes — and that translates to the big things — listening to oppositional viewpoints and trying to understand others’ opinions.
What is the best class you’ve taken at CA and why?
Creative nonfiction! I learned to love writing in the class, and now I am considering becoming a journalist.
What is on your CA bucket list?
To do homework on the Labs roof once the weather gets warm!
What else is special to you about CA?
CA has really shaped me into the person that I am today. I am deeply indebted to the community here. Preparing to leave this year is bittersweet — I am sad to leave this incredible place, but I know CA has prepared me very well for my future.
