What is the best class you’ve taken at CA and why?
My sophomore year I took U.S. History: Civil War and Reconstruction. The teacher was really passionate about the topic and connected the issues from the time period and their implications to the present day. On top of that, I was truly interested in the Reconstruction era’s legacy and had not learned about it in any course before, so though it catered to my interests it brought my knowledge to a whole new understanding. She didn’t only teach us all the different viewpoints but also the reasoning behind them that brought a whole new dynamic to the events.
What is your favorite boarding memory or tradition?
My favorite things about boarding life are the more mundane gatherings on the weekends, at SHAC nights, or late at night during the week to play volleyball. Students from all grades and all aspects of the community come to the SHAC to have fun and play, and it’s a great way to hang out with friends and get to know other people in the community.
What is on your CA bucket list?
Winning the graduation sock, becoming a team captain, giving my chapel, and helping sustainability efforts at CA.
