Why did you choose CA?

I was initially drawn to CA because of the strong dance program, which was unmatched by any other school I looked at. Concord Academy’s commitment to finding balance between academics, athletics, and arts allows for an environment where students can branch out and each explore their unique set of interests. When I visited campus, I was able to see the visible connection that students and faculty have. CA’s smaller class sizes allow for more vibrant class discussions and for classmates and teachers to get to know each other better. I have found CA’s environment to be incredibly supportive, encouraging, and passionate.

How would you describe common trust?

Common trust is at the core of CA’s values and fundamental to many different aspects of life at school. From being able to leave our belongings in the school lobby to students’ access to extended campus in Concord center, and calling our teachers by their first name, common trust creates a close, supportive community that fosters empathy and mutual respect.

What is the best class you’ve taken at CA and why?

While it’s impossible to choose a single favorite, one class I took this past year that really resonated with me was U.S. Presidency. Our teacher combined into the course’s curriculum discussions about current events surrounding the 2020 election, which led to a lively and insightful class. This course shifted the way I think about history and social studies in general, as up until that point I had only taken classes centered on history of the past. Additionally, this class encouraged me to become more engaged and politically active.
