Why did you choose CA?

I chose CA for a number of reasons. In looking at secondary schools the most impressive aspect of CA was the breadth and depth of courses offered. I also really value discussion-based learning and the use of primary source materials. CA employs this approach in many classes.

The best class I’ve taken at CA was…

Reform, Social Justice, and Social Change in America, a course that explores five movements throughout the history of the United States. What made this special was the in depth analysis of each of the movements that made them come to life. This course also enabled me to connect and apply what I learned in this class to current day events.

What do you do at CA?

At CA, in addition to regular coursework, where history and English are my favorites, I take private violin lessons, and take part in chamber and orchestra ensembles. Playing the violin has been a really important interest for years. I am also a Head Tour Guide and an Orientation Leader. I am part of the yearbook staff as a photographer.
