CA teams enjoyed quite a successful winter season!
The girls varsity squash team’s impressive NEPSAC championship run certainly was the highlight of the winter season. The chameleons finished in 2nd place in the EIL, the program’s strongest finish in recent years, and carried the momentum into the post season. Congrats to the team on earning the first NEPSAC championship in program history and only the 4th in school history across all sports. The boys squash team also competed well at the NEPSAC tournament coming in 4th place, only 3 points behind the eventual champs, and nearly bringing home one of the coveted top 3 trophies.
The Alpine ski teams enjoyed another successful campaign on the slopes of New England this winter. The boys and girls team each brought home 2nd place league trophies. CA then co hosted the NEPSAC championships at Okemo Mountain and represented the Green with pride. Each team earned a “”trip to the podium”” by securing 3rd place trophies.
The varsity basketball teams showed significant improvement this season with both the girls and the boys teams posting more victories than last season. The boys varsity made great strides by securing 8 victories this winter after earning only one win in 2015-16. The girls and boys JV teams also earned as many or more wins as last winter which bodes well for the future of the program.
The coed varsity wrestling team came roaring out of the blocks to secure victories in 5 of their first 7 matches but were unable to keep the momentum going in the 2nd half of the season. The team ended on a high note with some of the program’s youngest wrestlers securing their first victories of the season at the EILs and with three of the experienced chameleons qualifying for the NEPSAC tournament. Go Green!
