Last week, I shared the below news with the Concord Academy community. Please find the below update on our Dean of Students search.
Head of School
Dresden Endowed Chair
Dear Concord Academy Community,
I am very pleased to announce that Sally Zimmerli has accepted our offer to serve as CA’s next dean of students, beginning on July 1.
Through the extensive search and interview process, the enthusiastic support from students, parents, faculty, and staff, as well as her work as acting director of student life, Sally showed us that the right person for the job was here all along. Her experience, her understanding of adolescents, her ability to partner with adults, and her poise, good humor, and fundamental optimism have earned her the respect of the entire school community. We are delighted that she will be joining CA’s senior administration.
Prior to joining the History Department at CA in 2000, Sally taught at Vermont Academy for two years. At CA, Sally has taught a range of history classes and served in a variety of roles: house staff member, director of residential life, head class advisor, girls’ varsity basketball coach, tutor in the Academic Support Center, and since last March, acting director of student life. Sally holds a B.A. from Colby and a Master’s degree from Simmons College. She lives on campus with her husband Tim Seston and their three children, Charlie, Luke, and Owen.
I also want to take this opportunity to thank Jenny Chandler, who led this search, along with the members of the search advisory committee – Kirsten Hoyte, Stephanie Manzella, Marie Myers, Kevin Parker, and Ayres Stiles-Hall – for the many hours they devoted to discussing the opportunities for this role, guiding the interview process, and welcoming candidates to campus. They were a terrific team, and I am deeply grateful to them for their hard work, wisdom, and good humor.
Again, we are thrilled that Sally will officially take on this important role as of this summer. Please join me in congratulating and thanking Sally Zimmerli, CA’s next Dean of Students.
