September 25, 2018

The 2018–19 school year began with an infusion of energy and optimism, thanks in part to significant improvements over the summer to four of Concord Academy’s student houses — an addition to Bradford House that created a new common room and faculty apartments, and expanded common rooms in Phelps, Wheeler, and Admadjaja — and work already underway to connect Haines and Hobson. Adaptability and Empathy: Congratulations and Advice to the Class of 2018 from Commencement Speaker Dame Vivian Hunt, DBE, ’85

June 6, 2018

Concord Academy’s 96th Commencement exercises on the Elizabeth B. Hall Chapel lawn marked a new beginning for seniors. The class of 2018 and their families had much to celebrate, and much to be inspired by. In her Commencement address, Dame Vivian Hunt, DBE, ’85 encouraged the graduates to be ambitious. “Empathy allows you to think big and to scale really good ideas outward to many thousands of people,” she said. “Empathy means aiming for something bigger than a single good outcome. Only then can you create change instead of just adapting to it.” Read more and watch her remarks in full.
