State Reopening Plan

The State’s Health Indicators for Reopening

(Last updated July 24th)

We are closely following the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ reopening plan, which is currently in Phase III. Among other measures, this plan tracks the progress of six key public health indicators that are driving reopening decisions:

  • COVID-19 positive test rate
  • Number of individuals who have died from COVID-19
  • Number of patients with COVID-19 in hospitals
  • Healthcare system readiness
  • Testing capacity
  • Contact tracing capabilities

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is continuing to show progress in these areas.

We will continue to monitor these state indicators as we finalize our fall plans.

The State’s K-12 Guidelines

(Last updated July 24th)

We are closely evaluating CA’s ability to fully comply with the state guidelines for K-12 opening and operation that have been established by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. These guidelines focus on returning K-12 students to the classroom in person when it is safe to do so and include the following requirements of each school:

  • Masks/face coverings for all students and adults on campus
  • Physical distancing
  • Screening upon entry
  • Hand hygiene
  • COVID-19 related isolation space
  • Health and safety/PPE supplies
  • Additional health and safety protocols
