A full-time, year round position, the Annual Fund and Alumnae/i Program Officer plays an integral role on the Advancement and Engagement team, working to achieve near-term and long-range fundraising and engagement goals. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in fundraising and alumnae/i engagement basics, combined with a creative, entrepreneurial, and collaborative spirit.

Volunteer management is a centerpiece of this important work. Working closely with the Advancement and Engagement team and colleagues across the school, this externally-facing role will identify, recruit, and steward CA alumnae/i as partners and advocates on behalf of Concord Academy. As the incumbent proves proficient in the primary responsibilities of the position, this role offers growth opportunities (e.g., managing a portfolio of annual giving prospects, directing Reunion programming and managing regional events).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and build productive working relationships with alumnae/i locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally; serve as an ambassador to 5,000 alumnae/i worldwide.
  • The CA Annual Fund is a critical focus for this role. The incumbent will work closely with the Director of the Annual Fund to assist with fundraising efforts for the school, including identifying and cultivating alumnae/i volunteers, creating Annual Fund appeals, managing giving days, partnering on CAYAC programs (Concord Academy Young Alumnae/i Community) and supporting other activities in order to meet annual fundraising goals.
  • CA’s Reunion Program is also a critical focus for this role. This includes oversight and management of reunion programming and logistics, volunteer management (program and fundraising), and communications.
  • Work closely with colleagues to advance the goals of the Alumnae/i Steering Committee. This includes supporting its co-chairs and sub-committees and ensuring strong and productive relationships between its members, the school, and the alumnae/i body.
  • Plan, manage, promote, and execute alumnae/i and community programs and other special events that support the school’s mission and fundraising goals.
  • Serve as primary liaison with the Marketing and Communications Office to develop and maintain regular, meaningful communications with all constituents via email, CA’s website, print communications, and social media; partner with the Annual Fund and Alumnae/i Programs Coordinator to manage outside vendors.
  • Interest in managing a portfolio of annual giving prospects and volunteers, engaging individuals, and inviting them to invest in CA’s mission through unrestricted annual support.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Competencies and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • A minimum of 4-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Willingness to embrace CA’s culture and be a visible member of the community.
  • Demonstrated fundraising experience with a keen understanding of best practices in annual giving.
  • Proven ability to work strategically, thoughtfully, and purposely with volunteers.
  • Customer service-oriented with superb interpersonal skills and proven ability to work effectively with all stakeholders in support of shared goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Attention to detail with strong time management, organizational and project management skills.
  • High degree of integrity, dependability, use of sound judgment, diplomacy and resourcefulness, with a strong work ethic combined with an entrepreneurial spirit, and creative thinking; flexibility and ability to adjust to a dynamic environment with grace and positivity; ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters, including those related to sensitive donor relations.
  • Ability to travel, and work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Database experience, proficient in MS Access, Excel, and Word; and ability to learn new software. Raiser’s Edge experience preferred.
