Our students excel on AP tests.
Not bad for a school that doesn’t even offer AP classes.
Concord Academy eliminated its Advanced Placement classes several years ago. Many students here still take AP exams — and earn scores about 60 percent higher than the national average. Instead of taking AP classes, students take advanced classes in every subject, from biology to theater, that are often more rigorous than AP classes. Why? Because we find our students learn most effectively in classes that aren’t restricted by the AP syllabus. We are driven not by questions on a test, but by a genuine love of learning. Our students learn how to ask insightful questions, probe deeply for answers, and create innovative solutions — the kinds of skills that will serve them for the rest of their lives.
95 percent of Concord Academy students earned qualifying scores of 3 or better on AP exams ; 80 percent earned scores of 4 or 5.
