About Our Campus

Concord Academy is located 18 miles from downtown Boston in a beautiful, historic, and safe town.

Main Campus

Our Main Campus is located on Main Street in historic Concord, MA, and borders the Sudbury River. Our campus includes all of our classrooms, our residential houses, the Chapel, performing arts center, some of our athletic facilities, and our main quad, pictured here. It’s a beautiful, intimate setting, and close enough to town for a coffee or trip to the bookstore after school.

Chapel

The chapel is the heart and soul of Concord Academy. Once a Baptist meeting house, originally built in the 1700s in New Hampshire, it was disassembled and and rebuilt by students and faculty in 1956 under the leadership of head of school Elizabeth Hall.

CA Labs

Concord Academy’s interdisciplinary science facility, called CA Labs, opened in the fall of 2016.

J. Josephine Tucker Library

Students at Concord Academy are fortunate to have many library resources available to them. The J. Josephine Tucker Library provides a quiet haven for study and research on campus. Additionally, CA students have full access to the Concord Free Public Library (CFPL), located directly across Main Street from campus.

Campus Houses

Our boarding students make their home away from home in six historic houses, three each for boys and girls, each with a mix of class years. Students share the house with house parents who provide a responsible, caring presence. Seniors selected as heads of houses reach out to younger boarders, acting as role models and offering advice. Together, they celebrate birthdays, holidays, and everyday triumphs. We recently made a number of updates to our student houses which can be seen here.

Athletic Facilities

Our students are fortunate to train and compete on fields and courts that stand alongside their classrooms as remarkable facilities. The Moriarty Athletic Campus is a new, state-of-the-art 13.5-acre athletic campus that is home to the school’s thriving competitive athletics programs. For more, read about our athletic facilities here.

Extended Campus

Concord Academy is located in historic Concord, Mass., birthplace of the American Revolution and home to many notable historic and literary figures. The Old North Bridge is a short walk from campus. Walden Pond, made famous by Henry David Thoreau, is used by some sports teams for training. Louisa May Alcott’s house has been the site of history classes. Here at CA, the history and literature of New England enrich us every day.
